Healthcare facilities of Minsk and the regions have received 100,000 doses of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine, BelTA informs citing the press service of the Healthcare Ministry.
“This week, another batch (100,000 doses) of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine has been delivered to healthcare facilities of Minsk and the regions. This batch passed quality control. The country determined polyclinics that have the necessary equipment to comply with all cold chain requirements envisaged by the instructions,” the press service noted.
Health workers were the first to receive the vaccine. The second stage of the immunization program covers educators, social workers, 61+ people, people with chronic diseases. Lists of those wishing to be vaccinated are compiled by polyclinics at the place of residence.
The press service noted that immunization remains an essential component in the fight against the pandemic. Vaccination is voluntary.
In 2020, Belarus signed an initial contract for the supply of the Sputnik V vaccine to vaccinate 170,000 people. Starting from next week, the need for the vaccine is to be covered by the Belmedpreparaty pharmaceutical company.
