Belarus, Uzbekistan to cooperate in e-justice, mediation

The Justice Ministry of Belarus and the Justice Ministry of Uzbekistan signed an agreement on cooperation during the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, BelTA learned from press secretary of the Belarusian Justice Ministry Olga Shibko.

The ministries will cooperate in the areas such as development of e-justice, including informatization of justice institutions, legal regulation of the legal profession and notary activity, organization and development of legal services, development of the mediation institute, training and professional development of legal personnel and in other areas of mutual interest.

“The signed document will contribute to bilateral cooperation as a basis for effective interaction in the legal sector between the Justice Ministries of the two countries,” said Olga Shibko.

The press secretary also mentioned the participation of Belarusian Justice Minister Oleg Slizhevsky in the discussion session Open Meeting of the Ministers of Justice: Digital Form of Justice in the New Era. The minister spoke about the Belarusian experience in providing administrative services in electronic format through the Single Portal of Electronic Services, the use of the Single Electronic System of Registration of Notarial Actions and Inheritance Cases, launching business in electronic format. The automated information system of forming the National Register of Legal Acts was presented to show the use of information technologies in policy-making.

Attending the meeting were also the justice ministers of Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, Mongolia, Singapore, and Uzbekistan. They presented national trends in the implementation of IT tools in justice. A number of bilateral meetings were held, taking into account the hybrid format of the meeting.

With a view to studying Russian experience in using information technologies in the process of work with citizens the Belarusian delegation visited the Moscow Multifunctional Center of State Services in the Northern Administrative District and the Shipilovsky Department of the Moscow City Registry Office. “The ministry will use the new information to improve the system of providing administrative services, digitize the records of civil status,” said Olga Shibko.
