Many work issues were discussed during business negotiations with the chairman of the Svisloch regional executive committee Alexander Versotsky and his deputy Oksana Sheiko.
We also had the opportunity to talk to Jurgen Bergner, who is a board member of the HS Timber Group, and ask him some questions.
- Mr. Jurgen, what is the purpose of your visit?
- As we have already started the implementation of our investment project in mid-December, today we are here to see how the construction is going, to discuss several issues with the project company and the general contractor, to consider our next joint steps. I hope that we will act in accordance with the plan and without deviating from the schedule, which means that we will launch the plant in May 2022. Despite the weather conditions, we are optimistic.
- Are you trying to handle personnel issues in parallel with construction work? If not will it be the next step?
- We know that eighty people have already applied for a job. Now we are looking for employees to take them to Romania and train at the existing woodworking plant. They will be able to find out about the equipment and machines, to see the quality of the manufactured products. As soon as employees gain enough experience they return to Svisloch to continue their work. If someone is interested in our proposal, you can send your resume and we will look at it. We are looking for locksmiths, electricians, electronics and woodworking specialists and forklift drivers. Knowledge of English or German is a plus.
- It is great that you monitor the whole construction process. How often do you plan to visit Svisloch?
- Our team will be here every month. Moreover, in January 2022, when the supply of equipment begins, the visits will become more frequent. People are very friendly in Svisloch. We love the local cuisine. Therefore, here we feel at home.
- How would you assess the cooperation with our regional authorities?
- All issues are resolved at a high professional level. There are no problems with informing and meeting deadlines. We have positive experience of cooperation with the authorities, so it is a pleasure to invest in the Grodno region. We feel supported at the highest level.
