Belarus and Russia signed agreements and contracts worth more than $700 million at the 7th Forum of Regions, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko told the media following the plenary session of the 7th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, BelTA has learned.

“We have signed about 70 cooperation agreements and commercial contracts worth more than $700 million during the forum. The documents will contribute to the cooperation between our countries, will promote programs and agreements in social and humanitarian affairs,” Roman Golovchenko noted.

He thanked the Russian colleagues for their active participation in the 7th Forum of Regions and for the support to the Republic of Belarus. This year's forum program included five thematic sections, a Belarusian-Russian youth forum, a high-level expert session, a joint meeting of business councils, and a meeting of the inter-parliamentary commission on inter-regional cooperation.

The plenary session adopted the draft outcome document which will be supplemented further as the forum wraps up. "The draft outcome document reflects the intentions of the two countries to counter attempts to revise the results of the Second World War, to counter attempts to manipulate the so-called post-truth. Special attention is paid to the preservation of peace, independence and security, and to the need to promote patriotic education of the younger generation," said Roman Golovchenko.
