Second stage of Belarusian army's comprehensive readiness test begins

The second stage of the campaign designed to check the combat readiness and the mobilization readiness of the Belarusian army has begun, BelTA has learned.

The Defense Ministry told BelTA that the second stage of the campaign designed to test the readiness and the capability of army units and forces to carry out their missions began on 9 March in accordance with the defense minister's decision. The chief of the General Staff, first deputy defense minister has been entrusted with the overall supervision of the campaign. Tactical command and control bodies as well as individual army units are taking part in the campaign.

As part of the comprehensive readiness test mobilization resources will be supplied by military registration and enlistment offices while military hardware and special hardware previously kept in long-term storage or supplied by government agencies and organizations will be reactivated. Material assets will be transported from warehouses and supply depots. Plans have been made to recall about 1,000 army reservists.

The campaign will allow determining the level of cohesion of command and control bodies, the ability of commanding officers to manage their army units and troops in various circumstances, and the ability of units to carry out their missions in complicated situations.

The campaign will end with a tactical army exercise.
