Heads of government of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states are set to discuss joint forecasts for the development of agro-industrial complex at the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting which is due in Yerevan on 18-19 November, BelTA learned from the website of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
The meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will be held in person with the participation of heads of government of the Eurasian Economic Union, the EAEU observer states Cuba and Uzbekistan, and the chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
“The heads of government are expected to discuss mutual trade in 2020, joint development forecasts of the agricultural sector, supply and demand balances of the member states for agricultural products, foodstuffs, raw hides, wool, flax and cotton fiber for 2021-2022 years, the action plan on the provision of metallurgical enterprises of EAEU states with raw materials in 2021-2024, progress to align positions of the member states within the climate agenda,” the EEC said.
Plans are in place to consider an agreement on the use of navigation seals in the EAEU for tracking shipments, a draft strategy for biological safety of the EAEU, issues related to electronic commerce, including the approval of the road map for creating favorable conditions for its development in the EAEU, the action plan to improve the provision of the EAEU states with strategically important drugs and pharmaceutical substances for medical use, which production should be provided in the EAEU before 2024.
According to the EEC, the EAEU heads of government will be briefed on progress made in the implementation of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council's decree No. 11 “On the list of exceptions and restrictions on the EAEU internal market, subject to removal in 2021-2022” of 20 August 2021.
The agenda also includes amendments to the list of goods produced in the Republic of Kazakhstan, for which it is allowed to use a certificate of origin of serial products, issues related to the provision of equal conditions for participation in the program of procurement of agricultural machinery and equipment in Kazakhstan for producers of EAEU and third countries, amendments to the EAEU technical regulation “On safety of food products” and several others.
The EAEU heads of government plan to sign an agreement on the order of exchange of information which is part of the credit histories within the EAEU, the EEC added.
