CIS Council for Cultural Cooperation to meet Minsk on 15 September

The CIS Council for Cultural Cooperation will hold its meeting on 15-16 September as part of Belarus' presidency in the CIS, BelTA learned from the Culture Ministry of Belarus.

The Council comprises the CIS culture ministers (deputies) who will participate in the meeting online. The session will be held at the National Library of Belarus on 15 September. The delegation is set to visit the National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve Nesvizh on 16 September, which is the basic museum organization of the CIS countries.

The participants of the meeting will discuss the main cultural activities in 2021-2025 and consider a plan for CIS Year of Folk Art and Cultural Heritage in 2022. The agenda of the meeting will also highlight progress in expert work on the draft Convention on the Protection of Cultural Heritage; a draft action plan to announce 2023 as Year of the Russian Language as a Language of International Communication; and the international exhibition ART EXPO which is due in Kazakhstan in 2022.
